Is is "just" a DNS server? If you have the time and opportunity, I'd suggest removing DNS and reinstalling. do you think uninstalling and then re-installing the DNS would fix the problem? Active Directory and DNS go hand-in-hand, so if DNS is blown, your AD is going to be screwed.
