It sounds like the session isn't correctly marking itself as finished (or possibly isn't noticing that nxagent has exited at all), which will definitely screw things up. Unity, and requires that a lightweight desktop environment like MATE or Xfce or LXDE is installed on the system. http://qaisoftware.com/failed-to/failed-to-load-session-gnome-fallback-ubuntu-11-04.html

Often deleting /var/lib/neatx/session/* (remote) and (local) ~/.nx/S-* helps. That could well be the cause of nxagent crashing like that. Failed To Load Session Ubuntu-2d

Comment 1 Ville Skyttä 2012-07-08 11:59:53 EDT It works fine for me from an F-17 client using remmina to F-16 and F-17 freenx servers. Comment 4 kielogl 2012-07-10 09:22:16 EDT Thanks for the suggestion on the 4.0 preview client/player - it works well (gnome fallback mode). TightVNC comes to mind.

  • the slow Unity UI will be gone Can you help with this problem?
  • But the traditional way to remove into a Linux machine is SSH which is a command line interface which if you using windows you can download putty.exe.
  • Note that you will need to # use "SSL encryption" for all connections. #ENABLE_SERVER_FORWARD="0" #SERVER_FORWARD_HOST="" #SERVER_FORWARD_PORT=22 #SERVER_FORWARD_KEY="/usr/NX/share/client.id_dsa.key" # FreeNX with ENABLE_NOMACHINE_FORWARD_PORT="1" will automatically forward all # connections to the commercial NoMachine

See !M documentation for useful parameters. #PROXY_EXTRA_OPTIONS="" # In case you want to use an external 'rdesktop' command # set this to "1". # # If nxdesktop cannot be found this Thus FreeNX came along to fill in that server gap. I've changed these settings in my server and works fine for Ubuntu clients, but not in Windows and Mac. Neatx doesn't support any version other than 3.3.X.

Socat (invoked in a shell script) can be used for this. NX> 280 Exiting on signal: 15 The directory /usr/local/var/lib/neatx/sessions/25C5A2FF54B21EAB5603365C963074E9 exists on the server, but when I try to delete this session, I get the following: [email protected]:/usr/local/var/lib/neatx/sessions# nxserver --force-terminate 25C5A2FF54B21EAB5603365C963074E9 NX> 100 It was working on f16 (gnome-desktop3-3.2.1-2.fc16.x86_64 and freenx-server-0.7.3-23.fc16.x86_64). I also tried using QTNX instead of the nomachine client (unsuccessfully).

Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. but also notice that KDE works fine. Does anybody know what is actually wrong with the stale sessions? Here is a description of the server I have running now: * This is for home use * File Server - mostly for backing up all the PCs in my house

Finding Linux solutions can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. There's a "ghost" session that won't die.

At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '17'. Now it should work! If you run "which nxserver", what does it say? Does anybody have gone into anything like this? Would you like to answer one of these unanswered questions instead?

The gnome-session-fallback package provides it. It is run when a unix "xterm" session is requested by the # client. #COMMAND_XTERM=xterm # The key that contains the name of the complete path of command name # 'xauth'. However, now that NoMachine is giving the server away for free too (not the non-professional version though), there is really no reason for FreeNX and you might just be setting yourself
