Windows 7: Why does WMP takes so much CPU/RAM? O_O so I know how to fix the cpu usage issue but WMP will not let me fix it. up vote 0 down vote favorite I've found that on a very fast new machine CPU usage runs between 0-8% normally, but then with wmplayer on it hovers between 8-18%. Assuming I want to keep using wmplayer (and since I've got a lot of playlists set up there, I do), how can I fix this problem?

I've seen some ways to delete the temporary files or something afterwards, but this is really something Microsoft needs to do automatically. have a peek at these guys I'm seeing SearchIndexer and SearchProtocolHost and SearchFilterHost by Microsoft also running 5 cpu each, I think it may be WMP indexing my folders and looking for shit to play..
